I was also named after Kipling's character I believe. Actually, 'Kim' was not that common a male name when I was growing up in Australia, and at aged 9, I actually convinced my mother to let me change it. Believe it or not, I could not decide on a suitable replacement, so I stuck it out, subjected to the childhood taunting ("oh, that's a girls name!). I'm not sorry I did ;-)

Another interesting fact is that my namesake is none other than the director of the infamous horror movie, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"... I sometimes get some quite odd mis-addressed email, I have to tell you!
