Willimantic, Connecticut, USA

Born August 1952.

When I was growing-up all through Jr. and Sr. high I was constantly called all those names associated with gay people. Gym class was constantly a barrage of verbal abuse and physical abuse. I worked hard at my math and science studies and was admitted to MIT in 1970. There was a lot less abuse in college at that time. That seems to have changed lately with people who are gay assuming that I am.

I spoke with a clerk at the probate court about having my name changed. She said it would cost $100.00 to bring that before the judge without any promise that the judge would grant my request. A lawyer told me I could use any name I wanted as long as I did not do it for purposes of fraud. And yes I would get all kinds of trouble trying to use my credit cards. I finally called the credit card companies and had my name changed on my cards to Kimbo.

When ever I meet new people most of them would call me Jim or Tim because they could not believe there ears. A lot of people would think that I was Asian or Korean. And yes my dad was reading that book Kim by R. Kipling at my time of birth
