Much of what Kim H. Miller wrote, I could have written also, . . . especially the list of curses. I would add one: When providing personal information to someone, and you say your first name is 'Kim', you get the look and then the question inevitably follows, "Is that short for something else?" There is even a reluctance to accept the reply that Kim is the full name.

I was named for the Kipling character after my parents saw the movie that must have been more popular at the time than I ever suspected. I, too, suffered the same taunts in childhood that many of you have described. In a way, this built character, and contributed to who I am today.

Trivia bit: Among the Who's Who in the world of Kims, how many have heard of the popular actor Kim Coppola, nephew of the esteemed writer and director, Francis Ford Coppola? Perhaps you know him better by his professional name: Nicolas Cage!
