Kim L. Swanson

Columbus, Ohio USA
Attorney
Married (Judith A. Swanson)

Born: Ely, Nevada 1945

I was born in Ely, Nevada where my father was serving in the US Army during World War II. My parents were from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where there were many Swedes named Swanson. My mother wanted to be sure that I would not be "confused with" any other "Swansons" so she decided that my first name had to be "unique". At the time of my birth, the governor of Michigan was named "Kim Sigler" so, although my Mom swears that I was not "named after" the governor, she did get the idea for the name "Kim" from him. My name has served me well in the practice of law, distinguishing me from most, if not all, other "Swansons" practicing law and has "unnerved" some opposing counsel and their clients to find that the "Kim" they were dealing with is a male.
