What a great site! I've read all the trials I experienced as a kid.

Spent 15 years in the Army as a Signals Intelligence Analyst with Special Forces, mostly. Ft. Bragg with 7th Group and Ft. Lewis with 3rd Group, 82nd Airborne for the first two years. Loved being a soldier. Where else can you play with all the real toys.

Divorced. I have a great 11-year-old daughter, Madison. We sail, fly fish, and do all her Girl Scout stuff.

I read alot...read "Kim" in 5th grade. I could have been named after Kipling's Kimball or even my namesake, the great baritone Kim Borg, who came to Spokane in 1958 or so. There was an article in the paper with his picture. I was impressed. But no, I'm a Mormon and was named after one of the early church leaders, Heber C. Kimball.

Here's another "Kim problem" to add to your list: The kids used to tease me by calling me Kim-BALL. I hated that, especially since we moved a lot for some years. Being the new kid seven times in three years was bad enough ..add telling seven new classes that your name is Kim...you get the picture. In 7th grade there was a kid named Larry Kimble. Salvation! I immediately spelled my name that way on my new SSN card and everything else until I was 48. My mom died that year and I realized that she named me and it was a good honorable name, so I reached down, grabbed the gonads and came out of the closet. My name is Kimball and I'm a guy named Kim.
